Si no estás seguro
All of Hilo's Projects run on the same engine — the difference is in what they remember and how the work is organized. Picking the right one from the start saves you from having to migrate content later. Here are all 11, grouped by what you're usually trying to achieve.
Telling a long story
NarrativeUnit: Chapter
Novels, scripts, serialized stories. A bible of characters and world applied to every new chapter, and a chat that reads the chapters already written, not just a summary.
Illustrated StoryUnit: Page
Same as Narrative, but built for picture books page by page — with a fixed character sheet reused as a visual reference, so the face doesn't change between pages.
Business or brand content, with continuity
BusinessUnit: Week
Social content scheduled by week, handled through natural-language chat ("I have this offer, help me put together the post") instead of a form. Remembers your business profile and tone.
Launch CampaignUnit: Phase
Exactly 3 phases — Pre-launch, Launch, Post — where each phase builds on the content from the one before. Built for launching a single product or event, not ongoing content.
Documenting without needing continuity
Illustrated DiaryUnit: Entry
Each entry is deliberately independent — with an automatic date, never chained to the next one. For keeping a record, not narrating an ongoing plot.
CustomUnit: free-form
No template — you define the structure. It's the most flexible of the 11, and also the one that gives the least guidance: use it if none of the other 10 fit what you need.
Voice, music, and video
PodcastUnit: Episode
Script and narration for one episode in a single pass. No multi-track audio editing yet — that's what Mix is for.
Music LabUnit: Track
Music composition, with an optional Sound Bible (references, tone, even images) that gives continuity across different attempts at the same piece — we talk about "attempts," not "versions": each generation is a new attempt, not an edit of the last one.
Video LabUnit: Scene
Assembles scenes (AI-generated video clips, or animated from an image you already created) into a final video, with a soundtrack, captions, and per-scene effects. You can start from scratch or send an already-narrated chapter straight from Narrative.
MixUnit: Audio layer
Combines narration and music into a final file — volume and fade per layer, with a quick mode that automatically raises and lowers the music around the voice.
Art for your video game
Game ArtUnit: Piece
2D pieces in one style — buildings, troops, icons — cut out on a transparent background and ready to export as PNG with an atlas for Phaser, Unity, Godot or Cocos. You pick a template, run a style test and order the roster in a batch; with video you animate troops that walk, stand firm or attack, burning buildings and waving banners into frame sheets, and turn troops into heroes with three rarities (Blue, Purple and Gold) and a card with frame and aura. It is 2D art: it does not make 3D.
If you're not sure
A good shortcut: think first about your project's unit — chapters, weeks, episodes, pages, tracks? — rather than the final format. Most doubts get resolved right there. And if it still doesn't fit anywhere, Custom is always there for whatever doesn't have a template yet.
